Josilyn has always been passionate about weddings and social justice. Fairytales by Josilyn is the place where she was able to combine them in a meaningful way. She loves the beauty that can be found in every relationship and family, and loves working to write each ceremony from scratch to make sure your special day fits the vision you and your fiancé have been dreaming of. Every person deserves to have a wedding ceremony that welcomes them and their partner into their new life in a way that makes them feel prioritized and appreciated, which some do not find in traditional wedding ceremonies. Since she strives to affirm and serve all couples, regardless of religion (lack thereof), gender identity/expression, or sexuality,

Her favorite episode of any TV show is always the wedding episode. She and her younger sister have watched thousands of hours of "Say Yes To The Dress" and "Four Weddings" together.

She graduated from Albion College with a degree in English in December 2019, and has always enjoyed writing poetry and short stories as a hobby.  Josilyn was ordained by an inter-faith organization in April 2021.

It was through happenstance that her best friend helped her launch this non-traditional wedding business in May 2021.
